Innovative drone technologies at Civitavecchia power plant

Published on Monday, 21 May 2018

An innovative system integrating drones and Internet of Things technologies has been developed at Enel's Torrevaldaliga Nord power plant in Civitavecchia, to make the plant safer and more resilient.

The system, the first of its kind implemented globally at a thermoelectric power plant, was inaugurated on 21st May by Enrico Viale, Head of Global Thermal Generation at Enel, and Ernesto Ciorra, Chief Innovability Officer at Enel. The platform, which will support the operation, maintenance and safety activities of the plant and workers, was developed by our Group in collaboration with the Israeli startups Convexum and Percepto. These are two of the high-tech companies that have come into contact with our company through Enel's network of Innovation Hubs with offices in Italy and abroad, including Tel Aviv.
