There are still a few days to circulate ideas and put yourself to the test with “circular innovation”. This is the challenge launched by the first edition of the “I Think Circular” contest for Italian startups established after 1 November 2014 and public research centers that work in the development of solutions to innovate processes, systems, technologies and products in the field of circular economy.
The initiative is promoted by ‘La Stampa Tuttogreen’, the magazine dedicated to issues of sustainability of the Italian daily newspaper ‘La Stampa’, together with Aquafil, an Italian corporate reality active in the production of synthetic fibers, and with the patronage of the Italian Ministry of the Environment.
Startups and research centers have until 12 March 2017 to register.
A total of €3,000 are for up for grabs in the “Research Centres” category, while the winning startup will receive three months of consultation from Life Cycle Engineering (LCE), a company specialised in product lifecycle and environmental performance analysis.
The award ceremony of “I Think Circular” is scheduled on 21 April 2017 in Turin: the winners and finalists will be presented during a ceremony and the individual projects will be presented through multimedia webdocs at lastampa.it.
The efficient use of natural resources and raw materials represents one of the greatest challenges of our time. In this scenario, innovation and sustainability are the pillars on which to build a new model of development, both shared and circular. It is a model that Enel, through the Open Power strategy, has put at the centre of its business by charting out a business plan built on creating shared value and on a circular production model, from renewable energy sources to digitalisation, from customer focus to collaboration with startups and research centres and with initiatives like “I Think Circular‘ that are aimed at finding innovative solutions to protect the future of the planet and promote sustainable development.
