INCENSe is an enterprise accelerator born from a consortium coordinated by the Enel group and supported by European Commission funding.
An acronym of “INternet Cleantech ENablers Spark”, INCENSe aims to promote innovation and employment in the energy sector, developing products and services for the market that can make energy use smarter, more efficient and more reliable.
The INCENSe project, co-funded by the European Commission via the FIWARE program, was created thanks to Enel and Endesa (controlled by the Group), together with the Danish energy startup incubator Accelerace and FundingBox, the first and most important public platform for new enterprises and researchers.
It is part of a long series of initiatives that the Enel Group has promoted in recent years for the development of startups, top-class training for new generations and support for innovative ideas in the energy sector.
The funded startups will receive a grant (up to 150 thousand Euro) and will be able to count on support from INCENSe partner companies. Each selected business will have:
- A 6 month incubation period;
- Training sections with sector experts;
- Specific workshops on European funding programs;
- Access to specific projects in Spain (Smart City in Malaga), Denmark (Next Step City Living Lab in Esbjerg) and Italy;
- participation in project presentation meetings with specialized investors, as investment funds and Business Angels.
At the end of the program, Enel can decide to invest in the companies, become a partner for the distribution of products and services or become a client. We will also help the startups to attract further possible investors.
“We are looking for entrepreneurs who wish to truly transform their dreams into successful business stories, that commit to making changes in the status quo of our sector, also improving quality of life for people and our society. Innovating for Enel means creating a better world, that we all want to belong to.”
Head of Innovation and Sustainability, Enel.
